Repressions

I am suggesting that Food Not Bombs call for a global day of action on October 26, 2008 calling on an end to the U.S. government's campaign against our movement. The USA Patriot Act was signed into law by U.S. President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. We could hold vigils, share vegan meals and speak out about the clampdown outside federal buildings, U.S. embassies and FBI offices on October 26th. The federally coordinated attempt to discredit and silence Food Not Bombs has been ignored by the media in the United States.

16th of September is exactly 2 months since 22-years old anti-fascist
was arrested in St.-Petersburg. He is charged with intended infliction
of serious bodily harm (article 111, point 1 of Russian criminal
code). On the 18th of July the court decided to keep him in jail
before the trial.

The night 12-12 June Alexej was walking the city streets with friends.
His friend and he was a bit behind the whole group when they faced two
nazis saluting 'sieg heil!'. Alexej understood they wanted to attack
him as one of them had a a broken bottle. A fight started and Alexej

More than 60 days is Amadeu Casellas in hungerstrike now.

Not the judge, nor the General Direction, no one

politician...are doing anything to find a solution for his

situation!

We make a call for this week to all solidarity people to go

out and show your anger against the torture which suffer the

prisoners of this system diary.

We have to do an act of force to reactivate the struggle,

because the situation of our compañero becomes more and

more delicate. The guilties are clear: Political parties in

power, inhuman judges, banks - the real robbers -, companies

* During mid-June 2008 the Iberian counter-information collective A Las Barricadaswww.alasbarricadas.org posed several questions to the MLCwww.mlc.acultura.org.ve an affinity group of Cuban anarchism abroad. The complete text of this interview follows.

It's more than a half year since pressing of Russian special services (FSB, UBOP) towards activists of FNB in Bryansk began. According to instructions of FSB and UBOP local fascists attack anarchists and private threats from representatives of government are received. Criminal cases about facts of attack aren't being started. From the WEB mass-media are being deleted messages about agression towards FNB. By oficial news this information is ignored.

German authorities have allowed another transport of highly active nuclear waste from France to the north German village of Gorleben this year.
It will be the first since 2006 and as usual is expected in autumn on dates not yet revealed.
Each transport by train and trucks usually costs about 30 million euros to police as thousands of demonstrators from all over Germany converge on Gorleben, roughly equidistant between Hamburg and Hanover.

Wrongful deeds of police do not surprise anyone in today's Russia. Disregard of law, violation of rights, illegal detention and searching are by now considered business as usual.

4th of April 7 peaceful young men were beaten up and illegally arrested by police in Moscow near Sokolniki subway station. These persons were not resisting arrest, as videos made by their friends and other eyewitnesses prove. The only thing they made to protest against the illegal arrests was merely forming a chain and demanding from police to abide laws.

In the evening of March 25 in St. Petersburg an illegal antifascist march has taken place. Over 150 people have taken part, despite extremely harsh weather conditions - the city was in the middle of snowstorm (which probably slowed down the police reaction).

By Aktionsbündnis Münsterland gegen Atomanlagen

A year ago Russian opponents of atomic power filed a criminal complaint in Münster against Urenco Deutschland, alleging illegal transportation of atomic waste from Gronau to Russia. The state attorney’s office started to investigate, but wanted to be quickly rid of the politically charged case. In May it stopped its investigation of the globally leading uranium enrichment firm. Now the Russian activists are demanding resumption of the investigation and have engaged a lawyer from Münster.

The background is the delivery by now of more than 21,000 tonnes of depleted uranium from Gronau to Russia. Depleted uranium (DU) is a waste product created in uranium enrichment. Urenco and the licensing and supervisory bodies in North-Rhine Westphalia and Berlin claim that the DU is valuable recyclable material, but there is no commercial world market for it. It is used for armour-breaching ammunition and to dilute weapons-grade uranium. Urenco claims the DU is re-enriched in Russia to return to Gronau. The reality is that since 2003 Urenco has not imported uranium from Russia. Instead, RWE Nukem became the importer of natural uranium.

In Thursday, 13th of September our comrades, anarchists Andrei Kalyonov and
Denis Zelenyuk were released from remand prison of Novgorod after 29 days of
arrest - just one day short of 30 day period of detention without pressing
charges, allowed with anti-terrorism cases. They were suspected of bombing
Nevskiy Express train 13th of August. No-one died from explosion of a
claimed bomb planted to rails, but 60 people were injured. 30 day arrest
period of their alleged co-conspirator, Chechen Hasan Didigov (whom they
have apparently never met before) ends 18th of September, and it is expected

Freedom to Andrei Kalyonov and Denis Zelenyuk!
16th of August 2007 in Novgorod Region, in area of Maloy Vishery two members of St. Petersburg Anarchist League (PLA) Andrey Kalyonov and Denis Zelenyuk were arrested. Police suspects they participated to bombing of a bridge under train #166 "Nevskiy express", which took place 13th of August between Okulovka and Malaya Vishera, and which is investigated as a terrorist attack. 18th of August court of Malovisherskiy area of Novgorod region agreed on arrest of both for 30 days, after which they have to be accused or released.

We, participators of anarchist initiatives of St. Petersburg, categorically refuse accusations against our two comrades, and we declare that they have nothing to do with bombing of "Nevskiy express".

- Fidel Castro is in his last throes. Who do you think will rule in Cuba after his death?
º Fidel Castro is not dead yet, but even if he reappears, his role as leader of the revolution and chief of government is over. Raul has for now inherited the dictatorship but with his brother’s disappearance it’s unlikely he can exert power for long. Many factors indicate the opposite.
